About Me
“The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.”
-Carl Rogers
I’m Devin, a psychotherapist who works with adults navigating recurring relationship patterns and emotional challenges that can feel difficult to shift alone. My style is warm, collaborative, and relationally-focused, with close attention to how relationships shape our inner lives over time.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent over a decade working in education and living abroad. These experiences broadened my understanding of how culture, identity, belonging, and family expectations influence emotional life and relationships. They also deepened my respect for the complexity of each person’s lived experience and the importance of having a space where reflection and feeling can unfold at a manageable pace.
My work is grounded in a person-centered foundation and informed by attachment theory and psychodynamic perspectives. While we pay close attention to present challenges, we also explore how earlier relationships, emotional roles, and protective strategies may continue to shape connection today. Therapy becomes a space to recognize these patterns with compassion and begin developing greater flexibility, clearer boundaries, and more secure ways of relating.
I often work with clients navigating recurring relationship patterns, emotional over-responsibility, family dynamics, or the impact of relational loss or betrayal. I especially enjoy working with LGBTQ+ clients and with individuals who find themselves frequently in caretaker roles, unsure how to extend the same care toward themselves.
Above all, I believe therapy is most effective when it feels safe, steady, and meaningful. Together, we create space for insight, emotional experience, and gradual change — not through pressure to “fix” yourself, but through developing a deeper understanding of how you relate to yourself and others.
I offer virtual therapy for adults in both English and Spanish through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform.
Licensure Note: I hold a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA) in Washington State. In accordance with state regulations, I practice under the supervision of an approved clinical supervisor—which means I meet regularly with a licensed clinical supervisor to consult on my work, support my growth as a clinician, and ensure high-quality care for my clients.
